NBA Picks of the Day (8/14)

I’m going to give my picks for each NBA game today. If you’re smart, unlike me, you should take these picks straight up. Or, if you parlay like I love to do, all I can say is parlay and pray.

Nuggets ML (-130) over Toronto

Today’s slate of NBA games is tricky because all of these games are meaningless. The seeding is set, and we all know what each team’s playoff matchups will be. The Raptors are essentially resting all of their best players today. OG Anunoby and Serge Ibaka are listed as doubtful, and Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet are all officially out. Although Denver hasn’t released their injury report yet, I’d imagine most of their top guys won’t be active either. Regardless, because of Denver’s depth, I’m still choosing the Nuggets to get the win over Toronto in their last seeding game.

Heat -1.5 -110 over Indiana

In yet another game where a ton of players will be sitting out, I’d count on Miami’s bench to get it done against Indiana’s bench. We won’t be seeing Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Victor Oladipo, TJ Warren, or Myles Turner today. If you’re watching this game, it’s probably because you have money on it. I’ll be watching, and I’m going with Miami covering the spread over Indiana.

Clippers ML (-245) over OKC

Again, I wouldn’t expect to see much of each team’s big-name players in this matchup. Chris Paul, Pat Beverley, Landry Shamet, and Montrezl Harrell are already ruled out, but we should expect that list to extend or at least see the stars play limited minutes today. I believe Los Angeles’ bench will take care of business and get the win over OKC in this one.

Rockets/76ers U230.5 -110

I don’t expect many big-name players to be active in this game because there’s no point in risking an injury before the postseason begins. This game could really go either way, but with the lack of people playing, I’d just take the under.

Take these picks with caution. If you bet, good luck and be smart. If you decide to parlay a few of these games, all I can say is parlay and pray.
