There’s ‘No Way in Hell’ Kyrie Irving Goes to LA, a source tells Stephen A. Smith

Since the end of the season for the Celtics, all we’ve been hearing are rumors about where Kyrie Irving is going in free agency. The NBA season isn’t even over yet, and we’re already talking about where this man will play next year. Some of the teams we’ve heard he might go to are the Knicks, Lakers, Nets, and back to the Celtics.

As far as going to Los Angeles goes, we’ve heard different rumors from different sources. Brian Windhorst reported that he’s had discussions about reuniting with LeBron in LA:

“As time passes here, I would’ve said that this is impossible for many months. But as time passes here and as the possibility exists that Jason Kidd could be hired as the Lakers coach, I think the possibility of Kyrie and LeBron reuniting — that door, which was deadbolted, has been un-deadbolted and has now been cracked open … It might even be opening more by the day. And I say that just because I think it’s on Kyrie’s radar, it’s on Kyrie’s board. He has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers.”

Now, Stephen A Smith goes on First Take and says that a source texted him saying that there is ‘no way in hell’ Kyrie reunites with LeBron. In fact, Stephen A Smith said that there is a 95 percent chance Kyrie goes to New York with Kevin Durant instead.

I would go on and talk more about that statement about Kyrie and KD going to the Knicks, but I’m going to focus on the Lakers’ rumors. Here are my two cents on if Kyrie decides to team back up with LeBron in LA: He’d be the biggest coward since Kevin Durant joined Golden State back in the summer of 2016.

Let me lay this all down for you all: Kyrie requested a trade from Cleveland because he was sick of playing next to LeBron and being in his shadow. He wanted to be traded to be the leader of his own team. He got his wish by getting traded to Boston. Last year, he got hurt before the playoffs, making him unable to show the fans why Boston traded for him.

Fast forward to this year, and all year long Kyrie made himself look foolish with all his comments to the media. The team struggled all year and failed to find consistency. Although he showed signs of leadership and willingness to lead the Celtics, it all fell apart, and the playoffs showed that he might not be able to handle a team on his own.

Now, if Kyrie goes running back to LeBron, not only will it show that Kyrie needs Lebron to put him in the best situation to win and be successful, but also that he’s a coward and can’t back up anything he’s said. Plus, all the receipts of the times he said he wanted to be back in Boston will come up and make him look worse.

I don’t want Kyrie to leave Boston, but if he does, so be it. If Kyrie wants to leave what he has in Boston to go to somewhere like the Knicks and never win unless maybe another star comes, sure, go right ahead. But if he leaves Boston to go to LA with LeBron, I’d lose any respect that I have for him.
